Client Service Disclaimer
This notice explains the boundaries of the general information and preliminary interactions available through this website, before a professional engagement with Assista Customs Brokerage begins. It should be read alongside our Website Terms, Privacy Notice, and Document Submission Notice.
General information vs. shipment-specific advice
Content on this website — including Assista Academy material, FAQs, and general guidance — is general in nature. It is not advice about your specific shipment. Shipment-specific advice is only provided once Assista has reviewed your actual circumstances as part of a confirmed service.
Preliminary estimates and calculator results
Any duty estimate, calculator result, or preliminary figure — whether automated or provided by a team member — is for planning purposes only. It is based on the information supplied and is not a final tariff classification, customs declaration, or assessment by Bahamas Customs.
Tariff classification is not guaranteed in advance
HS classification depends on the specific goods, their composition, function, and intended use, and may require professional judgment and additional supporting information. Any classification suggested before a full professional review is preliminary and subject to change.
Customs has final authority
Bahamas Customs — not Assista — has final authority over classification, valuation, assessment, release, inspection, penalties, concessions, and clearance timing. Assista cannot guarantee any particular outcome, decision, or timeframe from Bahamas Customs or any other government agency.
We rely on the information you provide
Assista's guidance, estimates, and services depend on the accuracy and completeness of the information and documents you supply. Incomplete or inaccurate information can affect the accuracy of any estimate or the outcome of your request.
No guaranteed eligibility for concessions or exemptions
Assista can help identify whether a concession, exemption, permit, or preferential treatment may be relevant and assist with the supporting information, but eligibility and approval are determined by the applicable authority, not by Assista.
Costs and conditions can change
Duties, fees, exchange rates, freight charges, storage, demurrage, and other third-party costs can change between an estimate and final clearance. Applicable law and administrative practice can also change. Assista cannot control these changes, and an earlier estimate may need to be updated before clearance.
Delays outside our control
Delays can occur due to Bahamas Customs, carriers, warehouses, other government agencies, system outages, inspections, missing documents, or other third parties. Assista cannot control delays caused by these outside parties, but will communicate material developments when information is available.
When a professional engagement begins
Browsing this website, requesting an estimate, or sending an initial message does not, by itself, create a client engagement. An engagement begins only once Assista has confirmed the applicable service and, where relevant, you have approved a quotation.
This notice doesn't replace service-specific terms
This disclaimer explains the general boundaries of public website information. It does not replace the quotation, authorization, or other terms that apply to an actual professional engagement — those specific terms govern once a service is confirmed.
Before you purchase or ship
Before purchasing, shipping, or making a material financial commitment, obtain a professional review from Assista rather than relying solely on general website content or a preliminary estimate.
