Start Here

Quick Guidance

Answers to common introductory customs and import questions — what the process generally looks like, what information or documents are typically required, and where to go next for your specific situation.

Who It's For

Anyone with a general customs or import question before committing to a service.

Use This When

You're exploring the process, unsure what's required, or simply don't know where to start.

What Happens Next

Browse common questions or Ask Ava. If your situation needs more than general guidance, we'll point you to the right service.

Note: Quick Guidance answers common questions and points you toward the right service — it isn't a professional assessment of your specific shipment or circumstances.

Customs Document Services

Document Review, Declaration Preparation & Submission

Preparation and submission are kept as distinct services — engage Assista for one, or both.

Document Review

A professional review of your shipping and commercial documents — invoices, bills of lading, air waybills, packing lists, and related paperwork — for completeness, consistency, and apparent readiness before further action.

Who It's For

Anyone who already has documents in hand and wants them checked before relying on them.

Use This When

Once you have documents, but before submission — or if something about them looks unclear.

What Happens Next

Request Document Review. Assista confirms what's missing or unclear, and, where appropriate, guides you toward Declaration Preparation, Declaration Submission, or Import Clearance.

Declaration Preparation

Assista prepares your required customs declaration using the information and supporting documentation you provide — as a standalone service, without necessarily purchasing complete import-clearance management.

Who It's For

Clients who already have their documentation together and need the declaration itself prepared.

Use This When

You want a professionally prepared declaration, whether or not Assista handles the full clearance.

What Happens Next

Request Declaration Preparation. Assista reviews your documentation and prepares the declaration for submission.

Note: Declaration Preparation is distinct from Declaration Submission. Engage one or both, depending on what you need.

Declaration Submission

Formal submission of your customs declaration through Click2Clear, for eligible clients and files whose documentation and declaration are ready.

Who It's For

Clients with a prepared, complete declaration ready to go to Customs.

Use This When

Your declaration is prepared and you need it formally submitted for Customs processing.

What Happens Next

Assista confirms your file meets documentation and readiness requirements, then submits through Click2Clear.

Note: Submission is subject to appropriate documentation, declaration readiness, and Assista's operational acceptance requirements. Submission does not guarantee Customs acceptance, assessment, release, or clearance.

Import Clearance

End-to-End Clearance, Managed for You

Assista's principal Phase I services — guided from documentation through to release.

Personal Import Clearance — Assista handles your belongings with guided, stress-free clearance.
Who It's For

Individuals who need help clearing a personal shipment.

Use This When

You want Assista to manage your personal import from start to finish, rather than handling each step separately.

What Happens Next

Provide information, submit your documents, and Assista coordinates review, Customs processing, and duty/payment through to release.

Commercial Import Clearance — a truck loading at port alongside a container ship at sunset.

Commercial Import Clearance

For businesses that keep The Bahamas moving. Professional customs-clearance support — for a single commercial shipment, or ongoing clearance support for recurring import activity.

Who It's For

Businesses with a current, planned, or recurring commercial import.

Use This When

You have a commercial shipment that needs professional handling, or you're setting up ongoing import support.

What Happens Next

Request a Quote describing your business and typical shipments — Assista confirms how one-time or ongoing support would work.

Note: Complex, regulated, or unusual commercial matters remain subject to operational review — not every shipment is accepted automatically.
Vehicle Import Clearance — from port to road, Assista handles the details.
Who It's For

Individuals or businesses importing a vehicle into The Bahamas.

Use This When

Ideally before you purchase — vehicle requirements and costs can materially affect whether a particular vehicle makes sense to bring in.

What Happens Next

Request a Quote with what you know about the vehicle so far, or Contact us if you haven't found one yet.

Note: Vehicle-specific duty and eligibility rules can be more involved than general goods — an early conversation avoids costly surprises.
